This year’s Oscar nominations cover a field of movies that somehow feel like they came out over the last three years… yet also over the last three months. But despite the way time makes mockery of us all (especially lately), two movies racked up double-digit nomination tallies: Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog (for which Campion is the first woman to be nominated for Best Director twice) and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune.

Also, yes, Encanto got a Best Song nod, but not for the one everyone’s been talking about! (It’s for “Dos Oruguitas.”)

Dune‘s ten nominations are largely for work done behind the camera: Best Cinematography, Best Music, Best Production Design, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Film Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and the big one: Best Picture.

The Best Animated Feature Film category is also quite SFF-friendly, with EncantoLucaThe Mitchells vs. the Machines, and Raya and the Last Dragon.

Previous Best Picture winner Guillermo del Toro now has another Best Picture nomination, for the non-fantastical Nightmare Alley, which is also nominated for Best Cinematography, Costume Design, and Production Design. But neither del Toro nor Villeneuve made it to the Best Director category this year.

You can see the full list of nominees here. The Oscars ceremony takes place Sunday, March 27, and it will have a host again, though the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has yet to announce who that will be. Other than inviting a sandworm, there’s a clear first choice:
